Equipping Youth with Employable Skills
Background
There is huge consensus that youth of a country is its greatest asset. If prudently handled this invaluable resource, this human capital of tremendous value can bring about enormous socio economic well being in to a country. The failure to do so and the terrible repercussions of such callousness on the part of authorities in a country are dreadful to think of.
All member states of the United Nations, including Sri Lanka have committed themselves to achieve the millennium Development goals (MDG’s). One of the most important for Sri Lanka among the targets set under the eight goals of UN MDG’s is target 16.
“Development and implementation of strategies for
Decent and productive work for youth”
Creating “Decent and Creative work for youth” is a tremendous challenge, not to speak of the huge task of raising overall human development levels of the country. In this endeavor it is now accepted state policy to seek the support of private sector organizations who have the capacity to conceptualize, develop and implement effective training and development programmes leading to career development and creations of gainful employment opportunities for educated youth.
Win-Stone School of Culinary Art (Pvt) Ltd. an organization set up primarily to produce competent culinary practitioners bent on joining the hospitality trade (or to start ventures on their own) wishes to offer its expert services to train selected youth.. Our team of facilitators consisting of renown chefs and experienced Hotel School lectures, Management experts and university staff members have expert knowledge on requirement based staffing in the hospitality trade sector. Accordingly, tailor made training programmes aimed at making the youth equipped with employable skills, will be developed by our team.
The school which commenced its training activities in May 2004, has with a short time, attracted school levers desirous of undergoing training in culinary art with a view to joining the hospitality trade and hotel personnel who are keen to enhance their knowledge and skills.
